About zoning agendas
Summary
Land use in San Francisco is supervised by the city's planning department. In this section of EveryBlock, you can find locations that are to be discussed at upcoming weekly meetings of the department's planning commission — so you can find out about land use issues near you.
Those issues can cover anything from building demolitions to improvement of existing commercial spaces. Each agenda item includes those details, along with the affected location, the meeting date, the case number and the requested action (request for a variance, certification of an environmental impact report, etc.).
Also included is each item's place on the agenda — regular calendar, consent calendar, considerations of items for proposed continuance, and several others. Generally speaking, commission members review plans, hear appeals, manage proposed changes to zoning laws and so on.

The data comes from the weekly meeting agendas published by the San Francisco Planning Department. Agendas are published every Thursday, and we at EveryBlock publish data from them shortly thereafter.
