About zoning agenda items in general
The Planning Commission is responsible for maintaining San Francisco's General Plan, which serves as a basis for decisions that affect a wide range of activities, including zoning. The Commission conducts weekly meetings where they review plans, hear appeals, manage proposed changes to zoning laws, and so on.
Zoning regulations govern what kinds of buildings and businesses can be established in various parts of the city. They govern sizes and shapes of buildings, the number of dwelling units or apartments on a property, the changes that can be made to existing buildings, and other issues of that kind.
Planning Department staff members are available to assist in understanding the Planning Code.
