Notes Follow up on pest control at this establishment. Observed two types of flies in the kitchen and dining room. Noted that fly control and elimination was not part of the pest control contract. Observed that there is an operational old type "fly zapper" at wait station just outside the kitchen entryway. Noted rodent bait blocks have not been put in tamper resistant containers but just scattered on floor between and behind equipment. There is an ineffectively placed rodent bait station in the outside passageway beyond the open back door. The owner said that she had bought a douzen rat snap traps. On the service report, it was noted that a bait was being used to control cockroaches. Owner produced two dead german type cockroaches in a container. She did this at my request to see what type of cockroaches she was encountering. I contacted the Terminix supervisor " Gene". We went over the need for a fly control/elimination program, bait blocks being put in a tamper resistent containers, and more liberal usage of cockroach baits and MONITORS. Discussed with both parties the need to try the FDA approved type light trap. Owner was given cost of $250 per unit. She didn't want to spend the money. I did get her to try one out in which Terminix agreed to rent it out for $20./mth. The owner knows that she needs a self-closing screened door for her rear door. If this didn't work I informed her that she may need to obtain an NSF approved fly curtain to be placed and operated over her doorway.
