We checked out the Renaissance Faire on Sunday in Golden Gate Park, and...it was a complete and total blast. We saw live jousting, a group of people re-enacting The Merry Wives of Windsor, the truly awesome dancing musicians pictured above, and pirates, outlaws and the odd ninja or samurai.

Her father and fiancé followed along in a car as Gustafson motored through the race, which started at 5:30 a.m. near the Ferry Building. The course ran along the Embarcadero west to the Golden Gate Bridge and then back through the Richmond District to Golden Gate Park, and back to the Ferry Building.

The department doesn't really know how many trees in the city would be considered hazardous by arborists because only three areas - Stern Grove, Park Presidio and Washington Square - have undergone recent assessments, he said. Man arrested in shooting of mother in Antioch home invasion
Antioch police were called to the home on the 2700 block of Balboa Court around 1:30 a.m. today. La Due said that the suspect, Antioch resident Tremaine D. Oliver, and possibly one other man broke into the home while the family was sleeping in the living room. The mother was shot by Oliver as she tried to run out of the room carrying her son. The father fought with one of the suspects until they fled.
