Suspect arrested in Crocker-Amazon slaying
Tony Layva, 35, surrendered to police Tuesday night in the beating death of Alfonso Rodriguez, 39, whose body was found Friday slumped behind the wheel of a car at Cordova and Munich streets. Police said Rodriguez, who died later at San Francisco General Hospital, was seen being beaten by two men.

One defendant, Erick Lopez, had been charged last year with possessing the handgun that killed Philip Ng, 24, of San Francisco, and Ernad Joldic, 21, of Daly City, in a car at Excelsior Avenue and Athens Street in March 2008. The new indictment accuses Lopez of firing the fatal shots.
